I allot myself a twisted smile

Before igniting a nasogastric tube with acetylene

I laugh as its flames snake through my nostrils

I howl as I gag down the inferno

Crispily singeing my windpipe

A brush fire spreads over my epithelial cells

Pulverizing a hydrochloric ooze into soot

The rod reaches my yearning stomach

My belly laughs heave smoke rings o’er my neighbor’s lawn

I prepare for a tube feed of lighter fluid and volcanic ash

Cracking an acid-worn smile at the nourishment

Does my glee unnerve you?

What could ever stop me now?
